QpiAI Launches Major Quantum Computer, Boosting India’s Tech Power

In a significant stride towards advancing India’s quantum technology landscape, Bengaluru-based startup QpiAI has launched one of the nation’s most powerful quantum computers, equipped with 25 superconducting qubits. In keeping with worldwide celebrations of quantum research and its transformational potential, the statement was made on the occasion of World Quantum Day.

The National Quantum Mission (NQM), an initiative led by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, has chosen eight startups, including QpiAI. The startup’s quantum system, named QpiAI-Indus, marks a historic milestone as India’s first full-stack quantum computing platform, integrating quantum hardware, control systems, and software in a unified ecosystem.

Since its founding in 2019, QpiAI has rapidly become a prominent player in the Indian quantum technology market, with 11 published patents and a yearly revenue of about ₹1 million. The company has also received substantial investment support, including funds from the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
