Hyderabad, 11th December 2025: In a remarkable example of how timely intervention can transform outcomes, CARE Hospitals, Malakpet successfully removed a complex brain tumor from a 25-year-old young man from Khammam, who had been experiencing rapidly worsening hearing loss and imbalance, symptoms that initially appeared minor but soon became critical.
The young patient was diagnosed with Acoustic Schwannoma, a benign yet potentially dangerous tumor located deep at the cerebellopontine (CP) angle, dangerously pressing against the brainstem. If left untreated, such tumors can lead to severe neurological damage, including facial paralysis, permanent hearing loss, or life-threatening complications.

After a high-resolution MRI confirmed the condition, the CARE Hospitals team opted for a high-precision right retromastoid suboccipital surgical approach to completely excise the tumor. The intricate procedure was led by Dr. Bhavani Prasad Ganji, Senior Neurosurgeon, supported by Dr. M. Lakshmi Prashanth Kumar, HOD – Anaesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, and expert OT and ward staff.
In a testament to surgical excellence, the entire tumor was removed without causing any new neurological deficits. The patient recovered steadily, regained balance and mobility, and was discharged within 3 days with an excellent postoperative outcome.
Speaking about the complexity of the case, Dr. Bhavani Prasad Ganji, Senior Neurosurgeon, said, “This case is a clear example of how timely intervention can change the entire outcome. Symptoms like one-sided hearing loss or imbalance may seem minor but can point to serious underlying issues. Because the patient came to us early, we were able to completely remove the tumor and protect vital brain functions.”
Applauding the clinical team, Mr. Praveen Kumar Edla, Chief Operating Officer, CARE Hospitals, Malakpet, stated, “Time is a critical factor in neuro cases. The sooner a patient reaches us, the better the chances of recovery. This successful surgery reflects our hospital’s commitment to rapid diagnosis, advanced care, and coordinated teamwork, all focused on delivering the best outcomes for our patients.”
This successful surgery reinforces CARE Hospitals, Malakpet as one of Hyderabad’s leading centers for advanced neurosurgical care, offering hope and healing to patients with complex brain conditions.
