Neeraj Chopra faced disappointment despite reaching a new personal best at the Doha Diamond League. The two-time Olympic medalist finally broke the 90-meter mark, throwing 90.23 meters on his third attempt. Before this event, Chopra’s best was 89.94 meters, set at the Stockholm Diamond League in 2022. His achievement made history as he became the first Indian athlete to toss over 90 meters.
However, his effort was not enough to win. Julian Weber of Germany threw 91.06 meters, earning first place. Chopra’s milestone was a major moment for Indian athletics, even if he left Doha with second place.
