A heated exchange on News Nation, where IIT Baba alleged he was assaulted in a planned way, was followed by a fiery confrontation between a female anchor and a guest on Times Now Navbharat. These incidents have fueled a debate on whether news channels are prioritizing TRP-driven theatrics over responsible journalism.

Viral Clashes on Live TV
The Times Now Navbharat debate saw an aggressive argument between the anchor and a panelist, with both raising their voices on each other stooping to a level more than one can tolerate. Similarly, the News Nation controversy sparked outrage after IIT Baba claimed he was deliberately targeted. Social media exploded with reactions, with many users condemning these shows for lowering journalistic standards.
Sensationalism Over Substance?
Televised debates, once platforms for meaningful discussions, now often devolve into chaotic shouting matches. Critics argue that instead of informative discourse, news channels are resorting to provocation and drama for viewership. Hashtags like #GutterJournalism, #TRPDrama, and #GodiMedia trended as netizens called out the media for prioritizing entertainment over news.

Public Reaction and Media Ethics
Viewers / Social Media Enthusiasts are increasingly losing trust in mainstream news, turning to independent journalism for unbiased reporting. Many have expressed disappointment over the growing reliance on sensational debates rather than factual reporting. Rise in Masala Journalism warn that such trends erode journalistic integrity and misinform the public.
The recent incidents on News Nation and Times Now Navbharat reflect a broader decline in responsible journalism. If this trend continues, news credibility will suffer further where every journalist is labelled these days unfortunately.  It’s time for media outlets to focus on real journalism instead of orchestrating dramatic confrontations for TRP.
