J&K Police release sketches, identities of militants involved in Pahalgam terror attack
The sketches of the attackers involved in the Pahalgam horror were released by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, with a bounty of Rs 20 lakh on each.
Intelligence reports say some of the terrorists are Pakistani nationals who slipped into the valley just days before the attack. Authorities have named Saifullah Kasuri, also known as Khalid, as the mastermind of this incident.
Security forces have started a large operation to find the terrorists. Helicopters are being used to track them, as they took advantage of the dense forest to escape.
Initial forensic tests and survivor reports show the terrorists used military-grade weapons and advanced communication gadgets. This points to outside support for the attack.
Investigators also found that the terrorists recorded the attack with body cameras and helmet-mounted cameras.
The terrorists came fully prepared. They carried dried fruits and medicines, and it’s believed they also conducted reconnaissance with help from local residents.
Eyewitnesses said two terrorists spoke in Pashto, suggesting they are Pakistani. The other two are locals, named Adil and Asif. They are from Bijbhera and Tral.
The careful planning and precision of the attack suggest trained handlers were involved, not amateurs.
Intelligence officials say the terrorists’ digital footprints lead to safe houses in Muzaffarabad and Karachi. This shows a clear link to cross-border terror groups.
